Family Services

As a parent participating in Head Start, your participation in the program is very important! As teaching staff work with you to identify goals for your child, we will also explore goals for your family. Some examples might include:

  • Connecting you to community resources as needs arise in your family
  • Learning more about your child’s development and ways to increase learning at home
  • Exploring continuing your education or job training opportunities.

As a parent of a child in Head Start, we ask that you:

  • Keep your child up to date on well child checkups and dental exams
  • Be current on immunizations
  • Have you child attend class on time every day school is in session unless they are sick or have an appointment.

As a parent, you can expect from Family Services staff to:

  • Treat you with dignity, respect, and kindness
  • Keep confidential what you share about your family
  • Assist you with accessing resources in the community
  • Assist you with goals you have with you family.

Our family service, teaching, and program staff are mandated reporters as required by Washington State law, to report any suspected incidents of child neglect or abuse.
