Substitute

Upon the absence of a regular staff member, substitutes assist the center team in providing high quality comprehensive services to children and families and support all center operations. Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or GED; knowledge of child development and appropriate early childhood techniques; experience working with a variety of people from various socioeconomic, educational, and experiential backgrounds. Center Aide

Prepares snacks and meals and assists in serving them to children in the classroom setting; assists in housekeeping duties. Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or GED; custodian/housekeeping experience. Center Teacher

Provides early childhood education to children, involving parents with all aspects of center planning and activity. Minimum qualifications: forty-five college credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education, AND two years experience working in a group with children of the ages enrolled in the program; OR, equivalent education/experience.

Assistant Teacher

Assists Center Manager in teaching and other duties. Minimum qualifications: One year of experience in an early childhood program, AND thirty quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education; OR equivalent education/experience.

Infant/Toddler Specialist

Provides direct services to families in Early Head Start through home visits and program activities. Minimum qualifications: Forty-five college credit hours in Early Childhood Development, Education, or Special Education, or equivalent, OR a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) AND two years of experience working in group setting with children of the ages enrolled in the program, OR equivalent education/experience.

Family Service Specialist (Social Work Asst. II)

Provides direct services to families of enrolled Head Start preschoolers. Minimum qualifications: AA in Behavioral Sciences and two years of work experience in human services, or equivalent education/experience.

Fiscal Specialist

Maintains accounting, budgeting, cashiering, purchasing and payable records and reports. Minimum qualifications: Two years experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist I and 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college level accounting.

Program Assistant

Performs specialized technical/clerical duties, which include public awareness, volunteer participation, communications and USDA food billing. High school graduation or equivalent and two years of full-time clerical experience, or equivalent education/experience.

Information Technology Applications Specialist II

Researches new technology applicable to program, maintains computer operations, and provides support and troubleshooting throughout program. Minimum qualifications: Three years of Information Technology experience in such areas as applications development and maintenance, computer analysis, data analysis, database design and maintenance, or programming, OR one year as an Information Technology Applications Specialist I, OR equivalent education/experience.

Community Partnerships Manager

Develops, coordinates, implements, monitors, and evaluates all aspects of the community partnership component for SIHS, including public awareness, community partners, Policy Council support, and publications. Minimum qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Public Relations, Human Services, or a field that supports the responsibilities of this position; at least two years’ experience in public relations and community outreach work; and working knowledge of Head Start.

Center Manager

Serves as lead teacher and administrator for a local Head Start center. Minimum qualifications: Forty-five college credit hours in Early Childhood Development, Education, or Special Education, AND four years of supervisory and/or administrative experience working in group settings with children of the ages enrolled in the program; OR equivalent education/experience.

Program Manager

Oversees several Head Start sites and serves as a resource for the entire program in one more areas of expertise. Minimum qualifications: BA in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Services, or related field. Three years experience in supervision and management. Five years experience in early childhood education and parent education.

Administrative Services Manager

Coordinates all administrative services with Skagit Valley College departments, including fiscal, human resource, facilities and transportation areas.

Director

Oversees the program as a whole. Minimum qualifications: BA in Administration, Human Services, or Education; three year administrative experience in Early Childhood Education, and more.
